EARLY RELEASE:  On Friday, May 24, 2013, Spectrum High School will be dismissing students at 1:48 p.m.  Busses will leave Spectrum at approximately 2:00 p.m. and run their normal route.

FINAL WEEK SCHEDULED:
Monday, May 20, 2013 -- will be like any other Monday.
Tuesday, May 21, 2013 -- will be like any other Tuesday.
Wednesday, May 22, 2013 -- will be like a Friday
Thursday, May 23, 2013 -- will be like any other Thursday
Friday, May 24, 2013 -- will be like a Wednesday, but with Early Release at 1:48p.m.

SPRING SPIRIT WEEK!:
Monday, 5/13:  Beach/Hawaiian Day
Tuesday, 5/14:  Clash Day
Wednesday, 5/15:  Superhero Day
Thursday, 5/16:  Camo Day
Friday, 5/17:  Spirit Day
Saturday, 5/18:  School Dance!  Middle School Dance 6:30 - 9:00p.m., High School Dance 9:00 - 12:00 midnight!

Senior Check Out Process and Procedure:

ALL seniors, including all PSEO students, MUST attend one of the following dates/times to check out of Spectrum in order for you to receive your diploma.  Please first stop in the office to pick up a copy of your schedule and a check out form to begin the process. 

Tuesday, May 21, 2013 -- 3:00 - 3:45 p.m.
Wednesday, May 22, 2013 -- 11:00am - 12:00 noon; and 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 23, 2013 -- 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.

All detentions must be served by Tuesday, May 21st.  All lunch, athletic, and activity fees must also be paid in order for you to receive your diploma.

2013-2014 School Year Planning is underway and our guidance team is busy preparing class registration forms.  To aid in the scheduling and class sizing process, we ask that you let us know if your plans have changed and your child will not be returning in the fall.
If your child is not returning please:
-Reply with your intention to our Admission Office at admissions@spectrumhighschool.org
-Fill out the withdrawal-comment form and return it to the Admission Office.

If your child is returning:
- Do nothing! Your child will remain on the roster and registration will proceed.  Watch for class registrations to come home with your child.  They need your signature.

If at anytime before the fall start of the 2013-2014 school year you decide your child is not returning please:
-Contact the Admissions Office and we will remove your child from the roster.  Feel free to leave a message in the event the office is observing summer hours.

SPRING FINE ARTS CONCERT SERIES and NJHS/NHS INDUCTION CEREMONY:
  Friday, May 3, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., please join us for the Spring Band Concert and NJHS/NHS Induction Ceremony.  On Friday, May 17, 2013, please join us for the Spring Choral Concert.

CROSS COUNTRY INFORMATION MEETING:  Monday, May 6th at 6:30 p.m.  This is an informational meeting for all student-athletes (and at least one parent) who are interested in Cross Country for the 2013-2014 school year.  For more information, please click here.

All-Night Senior Party 

Super Hero

Give a Graduate a SuperHero Send-Off:  Send a personalized, SuperHero-themed message to a graduate!  Cards will be posted on the SuperHero Wall of Fame at the All-Night Graduation Party at River City Extreme, and can be taken home by the graduate as a keepsake.  Cards may be purchased at our table at the two Fine Arts Nights, Baccalaureate Service, and Graduation night.  You can also choose to pint your card(s) from home and return them to the office with payment.  FForward to family and friends?  All funds support the costs of the All-Night Grad Party.

Valley FairEND OF THE YEAR TRIP TO VALLEY FAIR!  Tuesday, May 28, 2013.  Don't miss this last opportunity to hang out with your friends.  It is open to all students in grades 6 - 12, costs $25.00, which includes transportation.  For IMPORTANT transportation information, please click here.  All permission slips and money are due NO LATER than Monday, May 20, 2013 to the main office.  Please click here to download your permission slip

SUMMER SPEED AND STRENGTH:  Beginning on June 10th through August 1st, every Monday - Thursday, for all students in grades 6-12 for the 2013-2014 school year, Spectrum will host a Summer Speed and Strength.  For more information and an enrollment form, please click here.

MANDATORY FALL SPORTS MEETING:  August 5th beginning at 6:30 p.m
.  This meeting is for ALL student-athletes and at least one of their respective parents, for students in grades 7-12 for the 2013-2014 school year.  Football practice begins on August 6th.  All other fall sports (cross country, soccer and volleyball) begin on Monday, August 12th.  All paperwork and activity fees must be paid before a student-athlete may participate in practices and/or competition. 

E-mail from Spectrum:  Please make sure that you add SHSMessage to your contacts list in your email server.  Also, please check your SPAM and trash folders from time to time, to ensure that messages from Spectrum aren't getting caught in your filter. 

MATH TUTORING AVAILABLE EVERY DAY!  Ms. Lee will tutor every day after school from 3:20 - 4:00 p.m.  Students should sign-up on the sheet just outside her door.  There is only capacity for 10 students each day so sign-up early!  If you have questions, please contact Ms. Lee at elee@spectrumhighschool.org
