The Spectrum girls softball team defeated the Brooklyn Center Centaurs 16-0 in 4 innings on Saturday, April 28 to extend their record to 2-0 for the season. It was the first outdoor game that the Sting have played in this weather shortened season. Ellie Rogers pitched a complete game shutout giving up just 1 hit on 9 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Offensively, the Sting were aggressive at the plate with each batter registering at least 1 hit on the day. Junior Solvej Lund had a monster day going 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and a team leading 6 RBI. First baseman Natalie Duerr was 2-3 and outfielder Jena Jakubiec was 2-2 on the day.

“I was really proud of the girls today”, said Coach Rob Rogers after the game. “Our home field has been very wet so our pre-game warmup was the first time we had a chance to take infield this season. The girls have really handled the adversity well.”
The Sting have 3 conference games this week including their home opener on Tuesday, May 1 against Heritage Christian.
