On Tuesday Jan. 30, the Spectrum girls basketball team hosted New Life Academy in a MCAA conference game.  Spectrum came away with a convincing 75-53 win. The win pushed the teams' record to 14-5 overall and 6-1 in the MCAA conference.  Leading the way for Spectrum in scoring was Kirstin Robbins with 12 points, while Tara Gleason had 11, Abby Thompson 10, Erin Bozich 9, and Ellen Voiss 9.  Ten Spectrum players scored in the game, 11 girls had multiple rebounds and each player had at least one assist.  As a team, Spectrum had 25 assists on 30 baskets.  The team shot 54% from the field and 70% from the FT line.

"We played extremely well as a team," said coach Cory Hund.  "Our focus was there every play, and every possession.  We started the game and the second half very well and everyone fed off each other."

Spectrum has a tough stretch starting on Thursday when they host the St. Croix Prep Lions (14-5 overall, 4-2 MCAA conference).  Thursday is the "RED OUT" game supporting the American Heart Association.  Next week, Spectrum plays at Heritage Christian on Tuesday and hosts Southwest Christian on Friday.
