On Tuesday, Feb. 6 the Spectrum girls' basketball team traveled to Heritage Christian Academy for a MCAA conference battle.  They brought home with their first ever victory against Heritage, an exciting 50-47 double overtime win.  Leading the way for Spectrum in scoring was Kirstin Robbins with 11 points, while Erin Bozich had 10.  Tara Gleason and Jessie Hansen each scored 7 points.  Hansen corralled 12 rebounds, while Emily Brueckner had 6, Gleason (5), Morgan Novotny (4), Robbins (4), and Bozich (4).  The game was tied 38-38 at the end of regulation and 43-43 after the first extra period.  Brueckner and Gleason each converted 2 FT in the second extra OT to help secure the win for the Sting.

"This was a big team win", said coach Cory Hund. "It is a perfect example of how well we can play together. The girls' battled the entire game.  Even when we were down by eight at halftime, they still believed in each other.  We had girls' who were feeling 100% giving everything they could, while those who were healthy were giving 110%.  I am so happy for them and proud of where we are."

With the win, Spectrum moves to 7-2 in the MCAA conference and tied for 2nd place.  Up next is the final conference game of the season on Friday, hosting SW Christian.  Tip off is set for 7:00 pm.
